Micro weddings or intimate weddings: all the advantages of this new trend
For some years at Mery Liccardi eventi we are used to organizing micro weddings or intimate weddings, but the situation that we are living this year, makes them the new trend that many couples are up for it.
WHAT ARE MICRO WEDDINGS OR INTIMATE WEDDINGS?
These are weddings with no more than 40/50 guests, in which couples choose to invite the closest family and friends.
They still maintain the same structure of a traditional wedding, but with some advantages I mention below.
ADVANTAGES OF SMALL WEDDINGS
I must admit, I LOVE intimate weddings!They seem to me a special way to celebrate love.
And to be honest there are many advantages to choosing a “small-format” wedding:
- BUDGET: You have more freedom to decide how to invest your money. First of all, the total budget is lower relative to a wedding with more than 100 guests. And in addition, you can spend more on the details. For example, if you have always dreamed of a more striking floral decoration, being smaller spaces and by investing less in other expenses, you can afford to pay more in the decoration. Live music, a dream setting, more personalized details for each guest, etc., will make your intimate wedding a special and unique experience for you and those who will stay with you on such an important day.
- ENJOY MORE OF YOUR GUESTS: This is another advantage of having a small number of guests. Enjoy every one of them, since at a bigger wedding this would be impossible. Times would stretch on a lot and it would be practically difficult to spend more moments with each one of them.
- OUT OF COMMITMENTS! How many times I have heard couples who have invited people they barely knew! Well, in an intimate wedding you can forget about the commitments and invite whoever you really want.
- WELCOME PARTY: With few guests, you can take the time to organize a welcome party the day before the wedding, to gather everyone, especially when they are “destination weddings” and your guests travel from other countries.
There are many advantages of marrying with a small list of guests. And I’d add something else… In all the intimate weddings I’ve organized so far, there’s such a special atmosphere that it’s hard to describe. They are authentic, emotional and love can be breathed in the air.

Really insightful read! I feel because of the pandemic, small gatherings are going to be extremely popular. But I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing. Like you pointed out, there are so many advantages!
