Elopement in the Isle of Skye
An elopement in the Isle of Skye was X&G’s dream come true.
It’s difficult to choose a location in Scotland for a wedding or an elopement. Every corner has its charm and is the perfect setting for an unforgettable ceremony.
Especially the Isle of Skye is one of the most special places in the whole country. Medieval castles, spectacular cliffs, waterfalls and mountains make this island a truly unique landscape.
X&G from Costa Rica, chose Scotland as a destination for their elopement, in love with its history, its landscapes and the magic that this country gives off.
In Portree, the biggest city on the island, they had a religious ceremony at the small Catholic Church of St. Mary.
The day began with some clouds that then turned into drizzle when, at the end of the ceremony, we went to some amazing places for their photo shoot.
But the rain and the cold did not stop X&G, who enjoyed every moment of this adventure and a day that for them was so important and special.
The first stop was at Fairy Glen. This fairytale place is located in the north of Skye and was created many years ago by a landslide, giving life to small green hills, in conical shapes and that together form a magical landscape.
Back in Portree, we stop in Quiraing, one of the most beautiful landscapes in Scotland. The Quiraing is a landslide on the Eastern face of Meall na Suiramach, the northernmost summit of the Trotternish. Its formations are so striking that they make this environment a mystical place and, of course, perfect for couple photo shoot.
At the end of this photo shoot we left the couple to enjoy an intimate dinner in a restaurant in the center of Portree.
An elopement in the Isle of Skye is synonymous of adventure. It is a unique experience and the most beautiful and romantic way to say “I do” surrounded by nature, a lot of history and maybe some magic.
