When I got their mail where they told me the idea they had for their big day, I admit that for me it was a challenge and also a great dream to plan something so special for two people who came from my land, Italy.
From day one, they told me clearly that what they wanted was a very romantic, intimate and special thing in a remote place, outside the big cities and surrounded by nature…They wanted a fairytale wedding.
In my search to find a perfect location for them, I looked around many beautiful places in Spain, until I found a little gem hidden in a village in the province of Jaén, surrounded by olive trees, elegant and stately, the Castillo de Canena.
The province of Jaén is a noble and simple land, with an amazing cultural heritage and where the history, the archaeology, legends and customs, make you revive the legacy of other cultures.
And it was this place of other times, the scene chosen for this intimate destination wedding, in which only the closest family members participated. The bride and groom took advantage of this special day to bring together the two families and share together the pure love of this lovely couple.
The Castillo de Canena is a 16th century castle of Renaissance style. It belonged to Francisco de los Cobos and now it is owned by the family producing one of the best extra virgin olive oils.
And here, in this treasure hidden among a sea of olives, the magic started…
Emanuele, with a suit by Andrea Versali for Monteleone Sposi, got ready in one of the castle’s suites. Barbara was in the suite of the tower keep and she wore a dress by Monteleone Sposi in collaboration with Donatella Piccarreta and Cotin Sposa. She completed her look with some amazing shoes by Sophia Webster.
Her makeup was natural and in warm colors by Sophie Makeup. And the romantic hairstyle with waves and a braid was by Lola Cabezas.
The ceremony was in the beautiful patio, where a string quartet accompanied the most emotional moments.
And as if by magic, the bells of the village sounded right after the “Yes I do” to crown that special moment.
The floral decoration was by the magical hands of Siloh Floral Artistry, a flower artist, with an exquisite taste and that turns any place into a dream.
She created for the altar, an arch that covered a part of the columns with greenery and roses in cream and ivory colors. The florals were naturally complemented with the architecture of the arches, the columns and floors. So she created a refined, romantic and fine art style.
The beautiful bridal bouquet with an organic and natural shape, feminine and with soft colors, had a raw silk sandstone ribbon.
After the ceremony, the couple and their guests went to the terrace where there was a gorgeous table under a pergola and with views of the village and the green of the olive trees. The organic and romantic table centerpieces in cream, ivory and rose tones, were mixed with sand-coloured candles and brass tealight holders.
The couple wanted to give an Andalusian touch giving each guest an hand-painted tile in vivid colors.
The string quartet of the agency 12Palmas was entertaining the dinner that was in charge of Catering Delicias. A delicious chocolate cake with cream cheese and berries covered by fondant and decorated with natural flowers, was by Velvet Marbella.
After a dance under the stars to the rhythm of “Summertime”, a flamenco show closed that magical night.
Every moment, every detail and every emotion were captured by Doncel y Alcoba, who through their photographs transmit their passion for telling stories and express emotions.
It was definitely a unique intimate wedding, special and unforgettable.
